IMF 2020
Wow! I can’t believe how long it’s been since I’ve written a post. COVID has pretty well closed Mountmaking Focus Studio for any teaching or much else. Mostly it’s been a place I hide out and do banjo restoration on project instruments and for friends. However, this week mountmaking is back on the agenda!
It’s time for the International Mountmaking Forum 2020!
When we had to cancel this year’s conference at the Getty, Shelly Uhlir from the Smithsonian’s Museum of the American Indian suggested we could do a virtual event. It starts in 15 minutes from now and looks like it should be a gas!!!! If you haven’t registered, you can do so at https://smithsonian.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_M3n67g_QRBajRAQFmInsfA . It will be going from today through Thursday October 29th starting each day at 2PM Eastern time. you can see the whole schedule at https://www.mountmakersforum.net. I’ll try to post highlights at the end of each day and what’s coming up.
On a more mundane note about the website, we’re in the process of migrating it to a new host company due to issues with our current hosting which has had our email labeled as Spam. Thus, it may take a little while for me to reply to emails in the next week or slo, but please get in contact and I’ll get to you as soon as I can.
With that all said, onward to the Forum!
